Around Hargeisa, capital of the self-proclaimed Republic of Somaliland, completely destitute climate refugees are stranded. Nomads whose animals have died in periods of drought. A harsh environment for the mentally ill like Ali Eid. At times, his family chained him to a tree out of helplessness. Children threw stones at him. Ali Eid believed during his delusions that his skin was on fire. Things changed a lot when the young man receives medication. Ali Eid is able to contribute to his family’s livelihood, finds respect in the community.

A few days after the interview, at the end of March 2021, Ali Eid dies unexpectedly.
